IMMUNOLOGICAL PROGNOSIS OF LIVER ENCEPHALOPATHY IN PATIENTS WITH ACUTE HEPATITIS B

Abstract
Th e article presents the method of investigation of T-lymphocyte activation in patients with acute hepatitis B (HBV) to prognosticate possible development of liver encephalopathy. Th e condition of T-lymphocytes in patients with HCV was estimated by the ability of specifi c antibodies to inhibit E-rosetting. It was taken into consideration that E-receptors that belong to CD2 cluster are the main branch of an alternative way of T-cell activation. Anti-lymphocyte immunoglobulin (ALG) was used as antibodies for E-receptors. Sensitivity of E-RFC to antibodies against T-lymphocytes (i.e. anti-lymphocyte immunoglobulin) was detected. It has been established that in patients with acute HBV, sensitivity of lymphocytes to ALG depends on the severity of the disease. Monitoring of lymphocyte sensitivity to ALG in patients with HBV detects activation of T-lymphocytes early, which allows prognosticating unfavorable changes in disease course.
