IMPLEMENTATION OF ADAPTIVE LEARNING TECHNOLOGY IN THE FORMATION OF THE ENGLISH COMPETENCE OF FUTURE SEAMEN

Abstract
Modern trends of the development of professional marine education require the individualization of the educational process, which is the development of pedagogical adaptive learning technologies. The article analyzes the principles of using MLS MOODLE as a tool for the implementation of adaptive learning technology in shaping the English competence of future seamen. It is noted that the adaptive environment of the training course allows choosing the educational content, tasks, and criteria of analysis in the process of learning. They are not static and can be changed according to the individual characteristics of the students. The described components (motivational-activity, program-target, informative-activity, communication, control-assessment and technological) and the proposed model of the distance course “English language” are presented. The course contains the following information resources: web pages, e-books, directories, links, files, presentations. The features of the tutor’s activity in the distance course, which has an opportunity to update the training materials, to check the control tasks, to provide the students with the necessary information, to control the process of training, is described in the course. The students enrolled in the course can use all teaching materials (including lecture materials) for self-study and communication (forum, chat, messaging). The course structuring is carried out by division of topics in the methodological complex. A gradual system of knowledge, skills and abilities of each module, consisting of Review activities, Stop and Check and Progress test, included in the assessment system, has been developed. The adaptive environment of the training course allows you to select the training content, the tasks, and the criteria for analysis in the learning process. They are not static and can be changed according to the individual characteristics of the students. The formation of English competence based on the distance learning course in the Moodle system, which includes adaptive learning technologies, ensures the democratization of the educational process of its subjects and broadens the range of foreign language communication.
