IMPLEMENTATION OF PROFESSIONALLY ORIENTED CONTENT AND LANGUAGE INTEGRATED LEARNING IN HIGH SCHOOL

Abstract

The article examines the possibilities for introduction of integrated learning methods in high school (Content and Language Integrated Learning) to improve the efficiency of mastering a specialty and a foreign language simulteniously, using the foreign language as a subject teaching language. The content and language integrated learning concept implies the creation of academic language support for better assimilation of the subjects’ content (disciplines) in various forms of organization of training, for example, tandem language training, immersion programs, bilingual education, intensive study distance programs. The importance of constant interaction and fruitful cooperation of foreign language teachers and teachers of special disciplines is highlighted with the purpose of improving integrated process efficiency taking into account numerous changes occurring in various spheres of world economy as well as in a professionally oriented foreign language.
