Journal Title: Revista Romana de Statistica - Year 2010, Vol 58, Issue 8

Abstract

In an European Union that integrated over the last years twelve countries: ten in 2004 and later on, in 2007, Romania and Bulgaria, new challenges have emerged due to the effort to mitigate the gap between the regions’ levels of development and strengthening the economic and social cohesion. Globalization, climate change, energy security, demographic decline and migration are issues that affect all Member States.
