In defense of coal

Abstract
The Polish power industry is based on coal, both hard coal and brown coal. In the nearest future, for about another 50 to 100 years coal will still be a foundation of Polish and global power industry. Therefore, burning crude oil and natural gas is an unrecoverable waste of these precious resources. Renewable energy sources currently represent only small share of electricity production. Energy from renewable energy sources is expensive and has no ready to use economical solutions. In countries such as Poland, with no large water flows or strong winds, coal for a long time will remain basic energy source for power industry.
