In defense of routine in management. About routine, ritual and performative behavior in times of uncertainty

Abstract

According to research findings from studies of both non-European cultures and contemporaryorganizations, members of a given group facing uncertainty are keener to accept routine. Thepaper discusses socially embedded routine that is an inherent element of every ritualized andperformative action.
