IN DER ADLER SAMPLE, PROPAGANDA IN PERIODICALS WITHIN NATIONAL SOCIALIST GERMANY

Abstract
During Second World War (1939-1945) which had an awfully adverse effect on Eastern countries as well as Western countries; countries such as United States of America, France, The Soviet Union, Japan and National Socialist Germany, in order to establish psychological superiority on each other, took advantage of and utilized from propaganda through mass media so far as possible. Thus, towards the end of the War, while audiovisual media were updated in terms of design and functionality under the focusing of target groups they have addressed and appealed to, periodicals and printed publications became one of the most common communication instruments used by the countries that were involved in the war. Within the scope of this study, propaganda style used by National Socialist Germany in periodicals during Second World War has been examined over Der Adler which was published in the same country. Within the scope of examining, in the first section following Introduction, Germany and Second World War were discussed and in the subsequent section propaganda and Der Adler were being examined. In the conclusion a general evaluation was made and received findings were interpreted.
