Abstract
The obituary signed up by Gabriela Haja mentions the passing away of the reputed linguist, specialist in Comparative Romance, full member of the Romanian Academy and of numerous other prestigious international scientific institutions – academician Marius Sala (1932 - 2018). Special mention is made, among many others concerns – as a reputed author of an impressive number of books and original studies – of his position of initiator, scientific adviser and coordinator of the Etymological and Romanian language series of works.
