INDUSTRIAL INJURIES AT ENTERPRISES OF KRYVYI RIH: ANALYSIS AND PREVENTION

Abstract
The state policy in the field of occupational safety is defined in accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine and is aimed at creating proper, safe and healthy working conditions, prevention of accidents and occupational diseases. The city of Kryviy Rih is a powerful industrial center not only in Dnipropetrovsk region, but throughout Ukraine. That’s why the workers’ state of health and the work of occupational safety and inspection sections at the enterprises of the city is a litmus test for a general assessment of the current state of injuries at the industrial enterprises of the country. The statistics of appeals to the Social Insurance Fund against accidents at work proves that many issues have not yet been resolved. The article deals with the problems of ensuring the implementation of the state policy in the field of occupational safety at the enterprises of the city of Kryvyi Rih in 2016. The state of industrial injuries at the enterprises of the city, its indicators in terms of industrial sectors and occupations has been analyzed. The analysis of the circumstances and causes of the injuries at the enterprises shows that the main causes of the injuries are: organizational causes (the failure to follow the instructions and to fulfill official duties, violation of the rules of safe operation of the equipment and the implementation of technological processes), technical causes (an unsatisfactory technical condition of production facilities, engineering communications, the territory, means of production), psychophysiological causes (the personal carelessness of victims, serious errors in the work). The basic forms of prevention of occupational injuries has been determined, their efficiency has been analyzed. The author has concluded that the task of improving the system of occupational safety in Ukraine has mostly three aspects, namely: economic factors of occupational safety, harmonization of industrial relations in the system of employer-employee, the risk-oriented approach to the estimation of production factors. Further upgrading of the management system of occupational safety in accordance with modern domestic and international requirements provides an opportunity to improve the state of occupational safety, to save a person’s life and health, to prevent financial and material losses.
