A blood sample is taken once a week to determine the effect of the extract on blood haematological parameters. The results of the study showed that ethyl acetate extract was not changed structural abnormalities of erythrocytes, leukocytes and thrombocytes in rats treated compared to the control group. In addition, blood smear showed no abnormalities in size, shape and staining at the level of erythrocytes at a dose of 1000 mg/kg body weight for 28 days of treatment. The study of the reversibility of toxic effects after discontinuation of treatment showed that all haematological parameters studied were not significantly affected. This study revealed that ethyl acetate extract from the leaves of Holarrhena floribunda is non-toxic to blood cells for 28 days of treatment.
