Influence of boron nitride contents on selected tribological characteristics of Cu – BNα sinters

Abstract
The results of tribological properties of sintered samples made of copper composites with dispersed ceramic phase are presented in this paper. Composite samples with different content of boron nitride, namely 0.5%, 1%, 1.5% and 3% were tested. Three different values force of samples on counterpart were used, corresponding to pressures equal to 0.46, 0,69 and 0.92 MPa. The coefficient of the dry friction and linear wear for different content of ceramic phase and for used specimen pressure values on counterpart were determined. It was found that friction coefficient decreases with increasing content of the boron nitride in the composites. At the same time, it was observed that the friction coefficient depends on the sample pressure values. The smallest values of friction coefficient for the smallest values of the pressure sample values were obtained. In the case of linear wear for all variants of the samples pressure were found. Its values increases with the content of boron nitride in the composites. The value of samples pressure affects the value of the parameter of linear wear. The largest values for the maximum force and content of the boron nitride were attained.
