Influence of the spatial model of earth dams slopes on the results of the calculations of their stability

Abstract

The task of ensuring the stability of soil slopes occurs in the design of the structures for hydraulic engineering, industrial, civil, transport and other purposes. Objectives of the study are the analysis of change and development of methodology for determining value of safety factor for the stability of soil slopes considering their spatial work. The calculation of spatial stability of slopes is suitable not only for narrow sections with steep banks, but in the case when at a small distance from each other there are widths with different engineering-geological or topographical conditions. Solving the problem of slope stability of the soil, initially you need to determine at what geometry (steepness of the banks of the dam, the longitudinal length of the dam without changing the shape of the cross section) it is necessary to consider the spatial behavior of the structure. Also, another important issue is the choice of the method of calculation of stability of soil slopes in the three-dimensional formulation of the problem.
