Information and explanatory activity as a form of implementation of the public service function of the police

Abstract

The article analyzes individual forms of information and explanatory activity as a type of public service function of the police and discloses their meaningful interpretation. The priority of the public service function of the police, which has a wide range of implementation from the provision of informational (as a kind of administrative) services to the population, the application of general preventive measures to the use of administrative and criminal coercion, is determined. It has been determined that the forms of implementation of the information and explanatory functions of the police, in addition to the disclosure of information about the activities of the police and responding to requests for information on the activities of the police, should be recognized: the publication of public information in official publications; placement of public information on information stands in the premises of citizens' receptions; placing public information on the activities of the police on the pages of rating social networks; publications about the results of the activities of the police and directions for improving its activities in national, regional printed publications, including scientific publications, materials of publications on the results of scientific and practical conferences, round tables, symposia, seminars, etc. measures; at least once a year, the head of the territorial police authorities and the publication of a police report on the official police web portals; conducting explanatory conversations about the activities of the police in educational institutions, at public gatherings; distribution of information leaflets, other printed matter about the activities of the police; the placement of information about the police activities on advertising media, public transport, even the placement of information about the road accident at the time of eliminating obstacles to the movement of vehicles and pedestrians on information monitors and devices.
