INFORMATION FUNCTION AND ITS PLACE IN THE SYSTEM OF THE FUNCTIONS OF MODERN STATE

Abstract
An analysis of doctrinal approaches to the concept and nature of state functions and criteria for their classification is carried out. In terms of development priorities of informational civil society, global information society, the rationale for the identification of the information function is substantiated. The author emphasizes its essential characteristics and features, as well as determines the place and significance in the system of functions of the modern state. Features of the regulatory and institutional provision of information function of the state in the present conditions, formation and implementation of information policy, development of information and communication technologies and informational space are noted.
