Journal Title: Journal of Air Force Medical University - Year 2023, Vol 44, Issue 9

Abstract

As the change of the mode of modern war, the incidence of maxillofacial war wounds has gradually increased, which has ranked first in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. It is very important to recognize the characteristics of maxillofacial war wounds and clarify the treatment points, key technologies and equipment support for improving the treatment ability of maxillofacial war wounds and ensuring the recovery of maxillofacial function and shape of wounded personnel. For a long time, our research group and domestic researchers have conducted in-depth research on the treatment of maxillofacial war wounds from different aspects, and have made major breakthroughs in the application of basic research in the wound mechanism, key technologies, materials, instruments and equipment, which has promoted the improvement of the treatment ability of maxillofacial war wounds. Combined with the research direction of the research group, this paper summarizes and analyzes the causes of the high incidence of maxillofacial war wounds in modern war mode and the changes in the characteristics of the main injuries, sorts out the treatment points of maxillofacial war wounds in the ladder treatment chain of war wounds, and summarizes the research directions that should be focused on in future research, so as to effectively provide guarantee for improving the treatment ability of maxillofacial war wounds.
