Instruments for an equitable management of shared waters.
Journal Title: Aquaculture, Aquarium, Conservation & Legislation - International Journal of the Bioflux Society - Year 2010, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
Concepts of Integrated Water Resources and River Basins Management are considered as key points to the question of how conflict can be avoided and international waters be managed. Over the last fifty years, countries have been engaged in more than 500 conflictive events over water. Almost 90% were disagreements over infrastructure and water quantity allocation. The Convention on the Nonnavigational Uses of International Watercourses (1997) provides an important template for cooperation and equitable transboundary water-sharing.

Preliminary research on the anammox process and control of nitrogen compounds in a recirculating aquaculture system
Using anammox process in biological filtration of technological water within recirculating aquaculture system is an alternative to nitrification / denitrification process which can reduce production costs, especially ene...
Ingestion induced health risk in surface waters near tailings ponds (North-Western Romania)
Anthropogenic activities generate most elements of environmental pollution, especially with heavy metals. The paper presents some investigations of several heavy metals (Pb, Cu, Cd, Zn) concentrations, performed on water...
Physiological response of the intertidal copepod Tigriopus japonicus experimentally exposed to cadmium.
The intertidal harpacticoid copepod Tigriopus japonicus is a benthic copepod and has been commonly used in ecotoxicology and environmental genomics studies as a marine model species. In this study, Laboratory experiments...
