Integrated chemical management of fusarium ear rot on maize in the rightbank forreststeppe zone of Ukraine

Abstract

studies of the Amistar Extra 280 SC efficiency against fusarium ear rot of maize on the artificial infectious background. Spraying was carried out at different terms towards to the artificial infection of cobs by fusarium causative agent. The disease development on control variant was 27.1% one mid-season hybrid Aurum and 28.7% on mid-late hybrid Standard. The highest biological efficacy from fungicide application was 51% on Aurum and 41% on Standard respectively. The most optimal term against maize fusarium ear rot is 3rd day before cob artificial inoculation by the causative agent. A direct correlation between increasing of fusarium infection and the increasing of cobs damage by European corn borer is established. Variants treated with an insecticide had lower scores of fusarium damaged cobs compared to control on average by 30-50%. Yields shortage in comparison with untreated insecticide variants in average 0,9-1,3 t/ha.
