INTEGRATED LEARNING SESSIONS WITH INTERPROFESSIONAL THEME DESIGNED BY STAFF TEAM TOGETHER TO INCREASER THE STUDENTS AWARENESS TO APPLY PRE-CLINICAL SCIENCES IN THE CLINICAL COURSES.

Abstract

Objectives: To increase students’ knowledge, skills and attitude in how to apply pre-clinical sciences in the clinical courses. Through developing learning method and introduce the concept Interprofessional education through medical curricula. Methods: A Cross -sectional descriptive study conducted at College of Medicine, Almaarefa Colleges for Science and Technology Riyadh KSA among57 of in pre-clinical students participated in integrated learning session at two different block medical blocks(GIT and HMIM) and 34 Teaching staff through two academic semesters. Data collected by structured questionnaires and results compered Pre – Post session Tests. Results: The results of these study showed that about 62% of teaching staff agree that student were not aware how to apply pre-clinical sciences in the clinical courses properly. While 92% of them supported the need to create a link between these branches to develop the depth of integration. Conclusion: This study exposed the importance and needs to create a link to increase the students awareness to apply basic sciences and pre-clinical sciences in the clinical courses. The interactive integrated sessions with Interprofessional education theme that designed by staff team are useful to deliver these awareness.
