Inteligencia emocional y sentido de vida en pacientes con VIH. Hospital Provincial General Docente Riobamba

Abstract

The researching process was developed through an observational design, of transversal descriptive type-It aimed to determine the emotional intelligence level and the condition of the sense of life in patients treated at the HIV Clinic of the General Hospital of Riobamba, during the period April to September 2016. The study population consisted of 100 individuals. A sample of 53 ones was established by a non-probabilistic sampling based on criteria. The data were obtained through the application of the emotional intelligence test of Weisinger and the Logotest of Elisabeth Lukas. The results were: predominance of the group of 30 to 65 years of age (73.59%); as well as the low level of emotional coefficient of those ones involved in the study, especially who aged between 18 and 29. The condition of the sense of life was affected in the individuals that were part of the study sample (77.36%). It was also determined that the sense of life is independent with respect to emotional intelligence.
