Intellectual Capital and Organizational Performance of Oil Companies in Port Harcourt, Nigeria

Abstract
The study sought to examine the relationship between intellectual capital and organizational performance in oil companies in Port Harcourt, using a cross-sectional survey design; the data for the study was generated from four oil companies in Rivers State University. Data analysis was done with Spearman rank order correlation coefficient with statistical package for social science (SPSS) aided. The outcome was presented using tables, frequencies, and simple percentages. The result showed that: there is a significant relationship between human capital and organizational performance and there is a significant relationship between organizational capital and organizational performance. There is a significant relationship between relational capital and organizational performance. We further concluded that intellectual capital can be used effectively to impact or enhance the performance of the organization. And that organization should effectively manage intellectual capital policies as it has proven to be an effective way effectively to sustain the growth of the organization. The organization should keep on improving in its technology and be more concerned about its employees, customers, and suppliers in order to achieve its goals and objectives.
