INTERATIVE METHOD OF CALCULATION OF ORIGINALLY CIRCULAR-SYMMETRIC STRUCTURES
Journal Title: Civil and Environmental Engineering Reports - Year 2005, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
The paper proposes an iterative method of calculation of modified, originally circularsymmetric structures. The method applies a cyclical (or quasi-cyclical) stiffness matrix of the original structure in each iteration step. A lot of modified systems which differ considerably from circular-symmetric ones (lack of some elements, strengthening, additional supports) have been calculated. The obtained results indicate that although the algorithm is not unconditionally convergent, exact solutions are often received even for considerable changes in the original structure. Operations on considerably smaller matrices than the full ones describing a system completely, compensate for the necessity of performing a greater number of iterations than when applying other methods of modification.

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION PROBLEMS CONNECTED WITH ENSURING EVEN THERMAL INSULATION OF SINGLE-LAYER WALLS
The design of single-layer walls appears to be extremely simple. In the opinion of many designers, the additional insulation of tie beams and balconies continues to solve all problems. However, tests on single-layer wall...
ULTRASONIC INTENSIFICATION OF AEROBIC STABILIZATION OF SEWAGE SLUDGE
The aerobic stabilization of excess sewage sludge using low frequency ultrasound (25kHz) was investigated. The mechanically thickened excess sludge was obtained from full-scale wastewater treatment plants. The samples of...
