International legal standards for treating minors that fell into scope of criminal proceedings

Abstract
The article explores the issues of the essence of international standards for the implementation of criminal proceedings involving minors. The comparison of the concepts «international standard» and «principle» as a whole is made, as well as the need to fix the basic principles of treatment of minors at the national level. The procedural features of criminal proceedings involving minors are defined; proposals are made aimed at improving legislation, namely the creation of the Concept of Justice for Minors. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of international legal acts on the basis of which the principles of treatment of minors are systematically proposed, which must be consolidated, as they essentially serve as a guide for proper application, as well as streamlining relations not directly regulated by the legislator.
