Investigating the Ways of Professional Skills Development of Junior Medical Specialists by the Means of Postgraduate Education System

Abstract

The article focuses on the necessity of investigating the ways of developing professional skills of junior medical specialists with medical education in the process of postgraduate training due to rapid development, reformation and modernization of modern medical industry. Analyzed regulatory and legislative basis of the investigated issue of postgraduate medical education and the processed scientific and technical literature are partially covered. Development of professional skills of junior medical specialists in the system of postgraduate education requires investigating theoretical and methodological foundations via contradictions that demand study of their reasons, detailed analysis of the factors, that caused them, specifically: partial difference in training of medical specialists of middle level in Ukraine with European standards of nursing and the necessity to bring the education system to a common international practice, taking into account the best scientific traditions; contradiction between the need for postgraduate training of junior specialists with medical education by the teachers with both medical and pedagogical education, together with the frequent lack of professional teacher’s training of clinical discipline lecturers; presence of client’s request for highly qualified assistance and services together with specialist’s unawareness of leading role of postgraduate training in the system of continuous life-long education, that presupposes preservation, accumulation and regular update of knowledge in accordance with swift development of public healthcare; the necessity of specific competence approach based activity of junior specialists with medical education and undeveloped theoretical and methodological basis, pedagogical terms and conditions of its professional skills development in the process of postgraduate training, based on individual-oriented study. It is important to explore the development of professional skills of junior medical specialists with medical education as a pedagogical problem and as a subject of scientific and pedagogical research. Thus, the article raised issues that need further research and investigation of the condition of professional skills of junior medical specialists and finding ways of development by the means of qualification improvement via the departments of postgraduate education of higher medical educational establishments on the territory of Ukraine.
