INVESTIGATION BODIES OF MARINE CASUALTIES: FOREIGN EXPERIENCE FOR UKRAINE

Abstract
In the article the author analyzed the content of the main regulatory documents that are applied in Ukraine during the investigation of marine casualties for the determination of competent investigating bodies. Also, the activities of investigative bodies of foreign countries, such as France, Germany, Great Britain, etc., have been studied. The author made conclusions about the need to establish in Ukraine a single permanent investigating body for marine casualties, one of the main tasks of which, in addition to conducting investigations, will be the creation and updating of the electronic database of marine casualties with Ukrainian vessels, as well as those that occurred in the internal waters and the territorial sea of Ukraine.
