Investigation of infrared GaAs photodetector instability
Journal Title: Gazi Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Dergisi Part C: Tasarım ve Teknoloji - Year 2014, Vol 2, Issue 3
Abstract
The IR photodetector instabilities in a single gap gas discharge IR image converter system with ionization type have been explored experimentally under the Townsend and glow discharge modes. In such systems under gas discharge conditions, any changes in the electrical feature of the cathode can yield to an undesired situation and there can be spatio-temporal instabilities in the system. The determination of these instabilities in an ionization type IR image converter device is vital to realize the optimization of the system. According to our experimental results, it has been found that current indicates fluctuations for the applied voltage of the image converter beyond 1500 V and these instabilities cause some deformations on the large surface of GaAs semiconductor.
