INVESTIGATION OF REAL THROUGHPUT OF THE IEEE 802.11N WIRELESS INFORMATION NETWORK

Abstract

The article presents the results of research on the real bandwidth of the wireless information network of the IEEE 802.11n specification for operating modes with 20 MHz and 40 MHz radio channels. The throughput of the network with 2, 4 and 6 active stations operating in saturated mode has been experimentally investigated. The influence of other wireless Wi-Fi networks, whose coverage area overlaps with the coverage area of the investigated network, is analyzed. For the given analysis the simulation of the operation of the wireless channel by means of the software complex ADS is made. Graphs of throughput degradation, caused by interferences in the radio channel are presented. Specific terms for using the wireless network channel which located near the boundaries of coverage zones of two wireless IEEE 802.11 networks was considered.
