Investigation of Staple Yarns Modified by the Physical Vapour Deposition Method
Journal Title: Fibres and Textiles in Eastern Europe - Year 2016, Vol 24, Issue 3
Abstract
The aim of the researh presented in this paper was to develop a technology for obtaining electrocondauctive yarns using the physical vapour deposition (PVD) technique, as well as methods for testing the yarns. The authors presented a method of production of metallic coatings for staple and continuous yarns with the use of PVD processes which enabled the production of yarns with electroconductive properties. The article also presents the properties of yarns after the PVD modification processes and the sustainability of these properties after utility testing such as laundry, bending and abrasion. Yarn thermographic analysis, which reflected the quality of the outer metallic layers, is also presented.

Fatigue Life Prediction of Knitted Fabrics Made of Cotton Yarns – A Statistical Approach
In the present paper, an assessment of the fatigue life of knitted (or knit) fabrics made of cotton yarns is discussed. Based on experimental investigations performed, the characteristics of material deterioration and da...
Strain Monitoring in Woven Fabrics with Locally Induced Mass Irregularities Using an Image Based Method
The aim of this work was to study the effect of induced mass irregularities of yarn on the strain monitoring of fabric during a tensile test. Slub yarns with different induced mass irregularities were produced and used a...

Celem pracy było badanie efektu prowadzonych nierównomierności masy liniowej przędzy na badanie odkształcenia tkanin podczas testów wytrzymałościowych. W wątku zastosowano przędze fantazyjne pęczkowe o różnym rozkładzie...
Formation and Antibacterial Property Analysis of Electrospun PVA Nonwoven Material with a Small Amount of Silver Nanoparticles
Electrospinning is a process which produces nonwoven material from nano/microfibres. The aim of this study was to electrospin poly(vinyl alcohol) nano/microfibres material with small amount of silver nanoparticles (Ag-NP...
Performance Stability of Ballistic Para-Aramid Woven Fabrics Modified by Plasma-Assisted Chemical Vapour Deposition (PACVD)
Plasma-assisted chemical vapour deposition (PACVD) is often used for the modification of the surface properties of a wide range of materials. The resulting effect of PACVD modification considerably changes the behaviour...
