Investigation of the Reasons and Career Plans of Students Preferring Forestry and Forest Products Program: Usak University Sample

Abstract
In this research, it was tried to determine the demographics of students of Usak University Banaz Vocational School Forestry Department, the reasons for choosing this program and their opinions about career plans. The study is based on 204 students registered in the forestry department of Usak University Banaz Vocational School in 2016-2017 educational year. 120 students were included in the survey using simple random sampling method from the probabilistic sampling methods. The obtained data were analyzed by SPSS data analysis computer package program. As a result of the work done, it was determined that 80% of the students who choose this program have medium and low income families below 2000 TL, 93.3% willingly and 60% without exam. Despite their preference for doing so, 53.3% of students have concerns about finding a job. In addition, 70% of students are interested in raising their education to undergraduate level.
