IoT-Based Smart Lock System

Abstract

The advancement in communication and information technology has played a significant role in the development of the Internet of Things (IoT).Nowadays, IoT is essential in various fields such as healthcare, smart cities, engineering, and more. Security plays a crucial role in our daily lives, and this project focuses on enhancing security. As technology continues to advance at a rapid speed and the need for college automation solutions grows, there is one particular innovation that stands out - the smart door lock system. This system not only provides improved security but also offers convenience and control over access to both residential and commercial properties. Traditional locks in colleges and businesses have their drawbacks when it comes to security and convenience. Losing or having keys stolen can be a hassle, and keeping track of who has access can be difficult. In comparison, a smart lock system offers solutions to these problems with various authentication methods, remote monitoring, and customizable access permissions. This project introduces a Smart Door Lock System that utilizes Arduino Uno, ESP-01 Wi-Fi module, LCD Display, Relay, and a Solenoid Lock. The main objective of this system is to improve security and convenience by enabling remote access control and monitoring capabilities. The Arduino Uno acts as the central control unit, facilitating communication between different components. The ESP-01 module enables Wi-Fi communication, allowing users to remotely access the door lock system through a dedicated smartphone application or web interface.
