Islamic international law (siyar): genesis and fundamentals

Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of Islamic international law, the history of its formation and the main provisions of Siyar. It has been established that this branch of law began to take shape at the dawn of Islam, and in the VIII century first scientific works on Islamic international law appeared. Representing, above all, the law of war and peace, Siyar touches on a number of issues that are today related to private international law. The progressive nature of Islamic international law is noted, it is expressed in the regulations of Siyar, which are similar much later than those formulated by modern international law. It emphasizes the relevance of studying Siyar in the context of overcoming conformism, establishing intercultural dialogue and enriching the existing legal tradition.
