Israelis vs. Palestinians. War and Occupation as a Remedy?

Journal Title: Chorzowskie Studia Polityczne - Year 2015, Vol 10, Issue

Abstract

The paper attempts a tentative analysis of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the context of how the Jewish State has been tackling the Palestinian national liberation movement. The first chapter brings attention to the unique conditions in which the state of Israel emerged – through what the Arab population saw as Europe’s ultimate colonial project. Further, the paper describes the so called matrix of control (over the Occupied Palestinian Territories) proposed by anthropologist and peace activist Jeff Halper. The final part is focused on the Operation Protective Edge and its death toll, primarily among Palestinian civilians. By way of conclusion, the author identifies two trajectories that the conflict is likely to take in its further evolution.
