JUDICIAL REFORM IN UKRAINE 2018: LEGAL COLLAPSE AND ITS CAUSES

Abstract

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, in order to increase public confidence in the courts, adopted bills that launched judicial reform. Innovations adopted by the legislator, in their practical application at the initial stage, have led to massive violations of citizens’ rights. The article deals with the features of the emergence and formation of the judiciary in Ukraine in the past. The problems of conducting judicial reform in Ukraine are considered. The first results of the reform after the entry into force in March 2018 of the amendments to the procedural legislation, the reorganization of the courts and the renewal of the judiciary corps were studied.
