Katerynoslav “motives” in “Kievskaya Starina”

Abstract
The article analyzes “Kievskaya Starina” publications devoted to the events of socio-cultural and scientific life in Katerynoslav region in the late XIX-th and early XX-th centuries. Author ascertained guidelines and content of local historians achievements in periodicals; studied attempts to implement their own scientific potential as a part of research and publishing centers, institutions and NGOs, preparation and holding of scientific forums, foundation and implementation of the first targeted historical, archaeological and ethnographic surveys of Katerynoslav region. It is stated that the fact of reprintting these publications in this periodical helped to transfer major scientific developments of local scientists to nationwide scientific historian process
