Key Technologies and Application of Safety Protection in Urban Rail Transit FAO Line Vehicle Depots

Journal Title: Urban Mass Transit - Year 2024, Vol 27, Issue 1

Abstract

[Objective] Nowadays, the safety protection capability of urban rail transit FAO (fully automatic operation) line vehicle depots is not well matched with the level of fully automatic driving technology, which is limiting the ability to maximize the advantages of FAO technology in intelligent operation-maintenance. Therefore, there is a need to analyze the key technologies for safety protection in accordance with the operation scenarios. [Method] By categorizing the operation scenarios of urban rail transit FAO systems and based on the safety protection requirements of the vehicle depots, relevant key safety protection technologies are sorted. [Result & Conclusion] The safety protection requirements of the vehicle depots include power interruption/connection protection, zone protection, intrusion alarm protection, and comprehensive scheduling display. Corresponding key security protection technologies involve automatic power interruption/connection technology, overall depot protection technology, operational zone protection technology, area intrusion prevention technology, train proximity alarm technology, and comprehensive scheduling display technology. By examining the application cases of FAO line vehicle depots in cities such as Chengdu, Shenzhen, and Wuxi, the shortcomings in safety protection are discussed, and recommendations are proposed to accelerate the in-depth research and application of intelligent safety protection technologies.
