Abstract
Pedagogical innovation is an innovation in pedagogical activity, changes in the content and technology of education and upbringing. Pedagogical innovations are aimed at improving the effectiveness of education and upbringing: introduction to the content, goals, organization of joint activities of students and teachers The article reveals the essence of innovation, substantiates the relevance of innovation in education from a modern perspective, describes the functions and justified their types. The article gives a clear understanding of the category of" innovations in education", which is considered as the end result of innovative activities implemented in the form of a new or improved educational process, educational product, educational services. Describes the features of innovation: channel realization of the achievements of human intelligence; expands the range of service products, engage in new productive force; improving quality; concentration of innovation in a particular area helps to bring structure to reproduction.
