Abstract
Monitoring the operational efficiency of a fishing vessels according to IMO guidelines does not take into account the specific nature of the work of the vessels, and the proposed EEOI indicator for different types of work (fishing trip, trawling, change of position, return with load) does not give to monitor the work of the fishing unit as it assesses the transport efficiency. The use of the EEOI should be adjusted and analyzed according to the work carried out by the fishing vessels. Monitoring such an indicator is difficult because calculations do not cover the whole trip but individual work performed by the vessels. It is therefore pointless to create a program supporting the effectiveness of the work of the fishing vessels. The paper presents the use of the author's program as a SEEMP component for monitoring and analyzing the effectiveness of a fishing vessels.
