КОРЕЛЯЦІЙНО-ОПТИЧНИЙ ПІДХІД ДО ПРОБЛЕМИ ГОЛОГРАФІЧНОЇ АСОЦІАТИВНОЇ ПАМ’ЯТІ

Abstract

Holographic associative memory problem within correlation-optical approach is discussed. Early investigations of this problem (P. J. van Heerden, A. Vander Lugt, G. W. Stroke, R. J. Collier) based, mainly, on formal Fourier analysis of associative reconstruction process. Correlation-optical approach, implemented by V. K. Polyanskii, enabled to investigate the problem of holographic associative memory via methods unused in Fourier-optics. These methods found on heartfelt interference- diffraction notions. Correlation-optical approach contributed to investigate such characteristics of associative reconstruction process as allocation of brightness along the image, peculiarities of spatial noise allocation in associative response and it vicinity, definition of the noise nature and possibilities of reliable associative reconstruction of information with the errors correction via angle separation of diffraction orders. Analysis of referenceless hologram model and nonlinear recorded off-axis holograms, reconstructed by associative method, shows wide spectrum of valuable characteristics of these holograms both for reconstruction of conserved data array missing part and for detection of small changes (“errors”) at the recorded scene, for reconstruction of total data array with error correction by partial array version, and for realization of highly efficient hetero-associative reconstruction based on noninterference mechanism of partial response connection. These characteristics of holographic associative memory (which earlier were ignored) become qualitatively and quantitatively comprehensible by implementation of correlation optical approach due to registration and detail estimation of all diffraction gratings (interconnections in the terms of neural networks) that acts in the associative reconstruction process. Shown, that reconstructed associative response quality, estimated by sight, can approximate of general off-axis holography image quality. Demonstrated, that correlation-optical approach to the problem of error-correction holographic associative memory by using nonlinearity in the filtration aria, has extensive results for realization of optical wave front conjugation (phase conjugation) via nonlinear static holography methods. These methods provide new possibilities to realize error-correction holographic associative memory, based on volume holograms (where, due to Bragg angle selectivity, one can rich essential raise of quality of reconstructed associative responses, especially for small samples from conserved image).
