Koszarowa warownia w Wiślicy. Studium archeologiczne do rozplanowania przestrzennego wczesnośredniowiecznego stanowiska

Abstract
The following paper deals with the early medieval stronghold “on the meadows” in Wiślica. It outlines the results of archaeological research conducted on the grounds of the fortification. Simultaneously, the current views on the embankment, chronology and role it played in the settlement system of Wiślica have been reviewed. Most attention, however, has been paid to the spatial layout of immovable monuments in the stronghold ward. The exceptionally egalitarian nature of huts found there and the lack of monumental architecture allowed the presumption that the settlement had served as fortified barracks, inhabited by the military personnel. As a settlement outside city walls, it remained in close contact with the nearby prince's residence in Regia.
