Abstract
In the article the characterization exercise penal institutions for signs of two groups: basic and advanced. Analyzes the following basic features penal institutions, industry affiliation of law; look and feel; subject of regulation; task; principles. В статье предложено осуществлять характеристику уголовно-правовых институтов по двум группам признаков: базовым и дополнительным. Проанализированы такие базовые признаки уголовно-правовых институтов: отраслевая принадлежность правовых норм; внешнее оформление; предмет регулирования; задания; принципы.
