Abstract
Po odzyskaniu przez Polskę niepodległości przystąpiono do opracowania projektu, którego celem miało być powołanie szkoły wyższej - Politechniki Wojskowej (PWojsk.), odpowiadającej poziomowi kształcenia uczelniom cywilnym. Ministerstwo Spraw Wojskowych (MSWojsk.), już w sierpniu 1919 r., dysponowało tymczasowym statutem PWojsk., w którym zapisano, że jest ona wyższym zakładem naukowym kształcącym oficerów wszystkich rodzajów broni, w tym saperów.
