Larvicidal Potential of Three Extracts Fumigants of Ferula Assa-Foetida L Oleo Gum Resin as Stored Grain Fumigants Against Trogoderma Granarium Everts

Abstract

The 5th instar larvae of Trogodermagranarium Everts were exposed to various concentrations (2,4,6 and 8 µl/ cm³) of fumigant of Ferula assafoetida L gum resin in petroleum ether, diethyl and ethanol extracts. Highest mortality rates were recorded with ethanol, diethyl and petroleum ether at the lowest concentration of 2 µl/cm³, namely, 70%,40%, and 10%, respectively, after 48 hours of exposure, with a strong repellent effect by all extracts starting with the first hours of fumigation.
