LATENT COMPONENT OF THE POLITICAL PROCESS IN SOUTH AFRICA DURING THE STRUGGLE AGAINST APARTHEID (1974–1994

Abstract

The period 1974–1994 was an important milestone in the history of the national liberation movement of the people of South Africa. These were years of significant increase in political consciousness and activity of masses, strengthen-ings of the international solidarity with the South African democratic movement. All this took place in a format of the open and hidden politics and resulted in the collapse of apartheid system. The article refers to latent component of the political process in South Africa during the acute struggle against apartheid in 1974–1994. It is proposed to study the hypothesis that the political process in South Africa had both trans-parent and latent nature due to the presence of specific forms and methods inherent latent politics. Substantiation is carried out on the basis of concrete examples, historic facts, scientific researches of foreign experts and testimonies of participants of fight against apartheid.
