Lateral active safety system based on THASV-II

Abstract
Some key technologies related to lateral active safety systems are studied on the second generation platform of Tsinghua Advanced Safety Vehicle (THASV-II). Based on the fusion of machine vision, laser radar and other sensors, the system collects environment information and vehicular motion information, recognizes the lane marks and vehicles, differentiates the lane with the following vehicle, determines the target vehicle and finally realizes the function of lane keeping. A simulation system is developed according to the onboard system and the offline simulation of the functions of the safety system is performed to improve the efficiency of algorithm investigation. Field tests are carried out on the platform for the evaluation of vehicle recognition, lane recognition and lane keeping.
