Meaning and calculation of equivalent volume of electron cloud
Journal Title: Science Paper Online - Year 2007, Vol 2, Issue 4
Abstract
The meaning of the equivalent volume of electron cloud is offered. Expressions for the equivalent volume are derived. The equivalent volume of electron cloud in He atom is calculated with the expressions. The calculated result is in good agreement with that obtained from the measured refractive index. This work proves the validity of the concept of the equivalent volume of electron cloud. This concept reflects the characteristic of electron cloud under electromagnetic induction. It can be used to analyze the ability of the electron cloud gaining energy from electromagnetic induction in a quantitative way.
