Journal Title: Social Innova Sciences - Year 2019, Vol 1, Issue 2

Abstract

The current process of globalization is imposing, through technology, general or universal cultural patterns on the new generations, who every day feel more attracted by the cultures of great powers or simply by consumer cultures, which, far from recreating values, traditions and customs, are promoting the fragmentation of society from various angles and, in this sense, the elements that support the cultural identity of Latin American countries are disappearing. The purpose of this study is to promote awareness of Latin American cultural identity in fifth grade students of the Santiago Mariño Educational Unit in the municipality of San Diego, Edo. Carabobo- Venezuela, through awareness workshops on cultural identity. Regarding the methodology, the research is descriptive, not experimental; the population consisted of 25 students. It was concluded that the application of awareness activities is beneficial in the consolidation of cultural identity.
