Law enforcement agencies as an object of public control

Abstract
An attempt is made to review the content of such category as «law enforcement agencies» as an object of public control on the basis of analysis of Ukrainian legislation and the works of law fellows. The author gives his own definition to public control. Necessity to change the category «law enforcement agencies» into «police agencies» is proved. Special attention is paid to the problem of decreasing the number of state agencies, which execute law enforcement functions. The author proposes to increase the scope of subjects of law enforcement activity, on which public control must be directed.
