LAWYER’S PERSONAL MATURITY

Abstract
This article deals with the basis of sense the level expert’s personal maturity in professional legal activities. The formulation of the question is urgent in the context of the crisis phenomena in legal system of Ukraine, which are shown in low system effectiveness, incompetence of lawyers, their low personal responsibility, corruption, etc. The research of a problem is based on the analysis of the basic concepts: personality, personal maturity. Leaning on researches and generalizing experience, the author considers the personality as a difficult dynamic organiztion of the individual’s internal systems ( physical, mental, intellectual, spiritual), defining his thinking, consciousness and behavior. Personality is conscious transformation of the social individual, concerning development of his individuality and acquisition personally and importantly characteristics, which are causing the person, his thoughts, acts, the relations and his place in a social context. The major signs and characteristics of the personality, resistant forms of the human’s behavior are described in the article. The personal maturity is considered as a certain, rather high level of personal growth, which provide an experience of emotional and sensual experiences; experience of knowledge and level of intellectual and logical activity; spiritual definiteness and valuable orientations; quality and abilities to social adapt. The author focuses the main attention on value of personal aspect of lawyers’ activity. Professional legal activity demands not only qualitative professional education and competence, but also formation of the identity of the lawyer. The author notes specifics of legal activity and considers the possibility of its performance by the professional as personally mature person, points to consequences of personal immaturity or neglect by the personality. Special attention in the article is paid to ascertaining of those factors in modern conditions of long transformations in the Ukrainian society and the state promote negative changes in consciousness and behavior of lawyers. Formation of the identity of the lawyer is long, creative, difficult development and self-development of the person, requirement of which does not arise spontaneously. Such process has to be prepared, stimulated the relevant government institutions, an education system, which are interested in updating and improvement of functioning of legal system. The author has made some proposals, which can promote formation of the qualified, personally mature lawyer.
