LEAN SIX SIGMA APPROACH AND AN APPLICATION FOR DEFENCE INDUSTRY

Abstract

Six sigma approach is one of the most important approaches to compete with ever increasing quality expectations in the manufacturing and services sectors. In the context of this study, a lean six sigma literature research is conducted and as a result of the findings was carried out a six sigma implementation to a problem in defense industry. Six sigma study was conducted using DMAIC steps, SIPOC diagrams, measurement systems analysis, hypothesis testing, root cause analysis tool to achive the expected Cp, Cpk values.
