Journal Title: Endüstri Mühendisliği - Year 2019, Vol 30, Issue 1
Abstract
In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) risk levels of 17 different sectors operating in our country considering the records related to OHS in the statistical yearbook for these sectors. Since, the assessment of the sectors according to OHS risk levels has a decision problem structure, it was benefited from Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods. In this context, the number of workers having occupational accidents, the number of workers suffering from occupational diseases, total temporary incapacity period, the number of insured workers as a result of occupational diseases, the number of insured workers as a result of occupational accident, the number of insured workers who have income lost after the occupational accident and the number of insured who died after the occupational accident were considered as criteria that affect OHS risk levels of sectors. To compute criteria importance weights, Criteria Importance Through Intercriteria Correlation (CRITIC) was performed. For ranking alternatives, Evaluation Based on Distance from Average Solution (EDAS) method was utilized. According to the ranking results, the sector which has the highest OHS risk level was identified. Additionally, the reasons belong to the highest risk level were discussed and the measures that can be taken were discussed.
