Legal mechanisms for the protection of the consumers’ rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan

Abstract

The article discusses a lawfully guaranteed system of ensuring the legal status of consumers in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The regulatory legal acts regulating the rights of the consumer and the materials of the law enforcement practice on the protection of consumer rights are analyzed in the article. At present there is no unified state policy on the realization of consumer rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan. In this regard, it is proposed to develop a Consumer Rights Protection Concept, which will take into account the experience of developed foreign countries. The main reasons for the numerous violations of consumer rights are the low legal literacy of the consumers themselves. In this regard, it is necessary to develop a set of measures to improve the legal literacy of consumers. In order to quickly respond to their topical issues, it is proposed to create an information and communication system called “Consumer Protection” in the Committee on Regulation of Natural Monopolies, Protection of Competition and Consumer Rights.
